
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Co-Curricular Activities are an important part of AFJROTC. They serve to augment AFJROTC classroom and Leadership Education requirements. Cadets participate in summer leadership schools, Aerospace and Technology Honor Camps, drill meets, dining-ins and dining-outs, model rocketry programs, flying model programs, static model programs, Kitty Hawk Air Society (KHAS), and the Tuskegee Airmen Program.

Drill Teams


Cadets participate in drill teams after school and participate in several competitions throughout the year.
Cadets on the Unarmed Drill team master the essentials to military drill.
Cadets on the Armed Drill team practice drill using the Daisy Model 1903 Drill Rifle as an extension of the skills learned from Unarmed Drill.
Cadets participating in Color Guard learn the prestigious duty of protecting
the colors (flags). They can be seen at various local events, as well as competitions.

Rocketry
The National Association of Rocketry (NAR) is a scientific organization dedicated to consumer safety, youth education, and the advancement of technology in the hobby of spacemodeling (sport rocketry) in the United States.
The Bowie AFJROTC participates in at least 8 rocketry events every school year.

Kitty Hawk Air Society
The Kitty Hawk Air Society is a national AFJROTC academic honor society that recognizes academic and military achievement by cadets, provides additional leadership/educational opportunities, and encourages excellence.

CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program. At the center of CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition. The competition puts teams of high school and middle school students in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with managing the network of a small company.
Physical Training
Bowie JROTC cadets participate in various Physical Training events and competitions throughout the year.
